Known as exchange-traded international securities (ETIS), the product is denominated in Australian dollars and will be listed on the Australian Securities Exchange.
The first series of ETIS will allow investors to invest in individual international reference shares of the top 35 US companies including Alcoa, Boeing, Bank of America, Chevron, Kraft Foods and Berkshire Hathaway.
However, the products carried risks including foreign currency exposure, liquidity risk and counterparty risk. RBS will also charge a 50 per cent fee on the dividends paid out by the companies.
