Zenith Investment Partners, Morningstar Australasia and van Eyk have expanded their managed fund research teams with new appointments.
Zenith has hired Jonathan Baird as an investment analyst within its asset class team.
Baird will be responsible for reviewing managed funds and products that invest in vanilla asset classes, including long-only equities and fixed income.
Before joining Zenith, he was at Australian Unity, producing equity analysis, and performance and attribution analysis and doing compliance monitoring across the investment manager's range of funds.
Zenith also promoted data analyst Christopher Huang to its alternatives team as a dedicated investment analyst.
Huang will be involved in reviewing products across the alternatives sector, including long/short funds and hedge funds.
"Most importantly, the new internal framework and latest staff appointments ensures that Zenith has the resources and infrastructure in place to address current industry needs whilst providing the flexibility and robust infrastructure needed to address future industry requirements in the Future of Financial Advice environment," Zenith director David Wright said.
Morningstar Australasia recently gained Alex Prineas in the role of research analyst.
Prineas will work with the firm's co-heads of fund research, Tim Murphy and Chris Douglas, and conduct qualitative research on Australian fund managers and their products.
Previously, he was a research analyst for Morningstar in the United Kingdom. He also previously worked at ING Australia in marketing, product development and research.
Van Eyk appointed Jason Blumberg as senior investment analyst, replacing investment analyst James Armstrong.
Blumberg will cover ratings on managed funds across the fixed interest sector and provide fundamental analysis on fixed income markets.
He joins van Eyk from Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation in London, where he was research manager for a $78 billion credit portfolio.
