The nine products, including the Select Alternatives Portfolio (SAP), were the only products out of an initial list of 31 funds to receive the high ratings.
Zenith head of research Ben Davis said the products, including SAP, were attractive for retail investors as they could get access to a broad number of managed alternative investments within a single product.
"Going forward we believe the sector is much better positioned based on the availability of the [recommended] funds," Davis said.
"There [has been a] wave of hedge fund closures and fund withdrawals, which in our view often provide opportunities as certain strategies become less crowded.
"Zenith continues to use alternative exposure in model portfolios and the [recommended] funds will be strong candidates to be used within this exposure."
Commenting on SAP's rating, Select Asset Management head of portfolio management Robert Graham-Smith said: "We are pleased that Zenith have reaffirmed their recommended rating on SAP, recognising its diversification across a broad range of alternative asset classes and strategies as well as its differentiation from other products in their alternatives sector review."
