Litigation firm Levitt Robinson Solicitors is in discussions with legal firms over a potential joint venture as it moves closer to finalising details of its Storm class action against the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA).
Levitt Robinson Solicitors principal solicitor and advocate Stewart Levitt said he has entered talks with a number of firms and expects to file a case against CBA on behalf of around 300 ex-Storm Financial (Storm) clients as early as next week.
"We're hopeful that within a week it will be out in the open," Levitt said.
Levitt would not comment on the number of parties involved in joint venture discussions, nor would he confirm or deny one of the firms is Shine Lawyers (Shine), the firm linked to Erin Brockovich.
"We've had discussions with a number of major firms and one of those firms will no doubt be in a joint venture with us and we will announce that at the time," he said.
It is understood rumours of Shine's involvement in Levitt's case began after a former Storm client emailed Shine's Australian operations.
Shine Lawyers were unavailable for comment.
Storm Financial closed its doors in January 2009.
