BNP Paribas Investment Partners has hired an Australian expat to its asset management business.

Global investment firm BNP Paribas Investment Partners has hired Michael Gordon as chief investment officer for equity for its asset management business.

Gordon will report to BNP Paribas Asset Management CIO Christian Dargnat.

He will be based in London. His previous job was with Fidelity, where he worked as global head of institutional investment, and he has also worked at Schroder Investment Management Australia and Wardley Investment Services.

"I firmly believe that Michael's arrival will establish us as a top-tier asset manager in equities in the institutional arena," Dargnat said.
