A Securities Investments Consulting Enterprise licence from Taiwan has been granted to Aviva Investors.

Aviva Investors has been granted a Securities Investments Consulting Enterprise (SICE) licence from the Financial Supervisory Commission in Taiwan.

The development means the funds management firm can now offer a wider range of products and services to the Taiwanese market and also open its own subsidiary there.

Furthermore it means local clients and distributors can receive on the ground services from now into the future.

"The Taiwan market presents distinct cross border opportunities and we have been keen to expand our presence in this market for a long time," Aviva Investors chief executive Asia Pacific Craig Bingham said.

"A lot of effort has gone into getting us into this position and now that we have the right framework in place we can begin to create a more meaningful presence and build stronger relationships with our clients," he added.

"This licence will allow us to deal with clients directly, presenting both existing and prospective clients with many benefits. We will be able to understand their requirements in greater detail, enabling us to provide solutions that are suited to their needs."

Aviva Investor's success in getting a SICE licence in Taiwan comes on the back of its recent result in being granted a Capital Markets Services licence from the authorities in Singapore.

"This combined with the Taiwan licence demonstrates our commitment to the Asia Pacific region and represents the significant opportunities that we see for investors in these markets," Bingham said.
