NGS Super has enabled a new mobile website with a view to improving its engagement with members.
The new facility will allow both existing NGS Super members and prospective members to access information such as the fund's past performance, videos containing successful financial management tips, and details of financial seminars they can attend, via their iPhones, Blackberries and other smart devices.
"Technology is an important part of what we do. We're committed to engaging our members on platforms relevant to them and so we have an increasing focus on online tools and services," NGS Super chief executive Anthony Rodwell-Ball said.
On the whole superannuation funds need to generate more interest from their members and the use of innovative methods of communication is one way of achieving this objective, according to Rodwell-Ball.
"Research such as Mercer's Super Sentiment Index shows that member engagement has fallen since the GFC (global financial crisis). That means we have to work harder than ever before to get members interested in retirement saving, and use whatever tools and technology are available," he said.
"At the same time, we need to continue delivering the level of investment performance and customer service that members expect. For NGS Super, the launch of the mobile site will allow us to continue to provide outstanding customer service, which is at the core of our offering."
The new facility follows the launch of the super fund's financial literacy program called NGS College accessible via the NGS Super website.
