The Trustee Corporations Association of Australia is to disband with its members set to join the Financial Services Council.

The Financial Services Council (FSC) will pick up 16 new member companies in March as a result of the Trustee Corporations Association of Australia (TCAA) disbanding.

Eight private trustee companies and eight Public Trustees will become full members of the FSC in March.

"The FSC will now be the peak representative body for trustee corporations, with our new Members comprising all of the State Public Trustees and most of the private trustee companies," FSC chief executive John Brogden said.

TCAA national president and The Trust Company chief executive John Atkin said the FSC was the logical choice to continue the advocacy work of the TCAA on behalf of Australia's trustee companies and Public Trustees.

"We look forward to working with the Financial Services Council on key issues facing the industry," Atkin said.

The 16 FSC trustee corporations members are: ANZ Trustees; Australian Executor Trustees; Equity Trustees; National Australia Trustees; and NSW Trustee & Guardian.

Perpetual; Public Trustee for ACT; Public Trustee NT; Public Trustee SA; Public Trustee WA; State Trustees VIC; Sandhurst Trustees; Tasmanian Perpetual Trustees; The Public Trustee TAS; The Public Trustee QLD and The Trust Company are also members.
