Kieren Perkins joins NAB Private Wealth

Former Olympic swimmer Kieren Perkins has been appointed NAB Private Wealth Queensland state manager.

National Australia Bank's (NAB) private wealth division has appointed Olympic gold medallist Kieren Perkins as state manager for Queensland.

The former champion long-distance swimmer joins NAB Private Wealth with the responsibility of day-to-day focus on continuing to build the private wealth strategy and proposition for the business.

Prior to this role, Perkins was head of private clients and business development for NAB Private Wealth in Queensland.

He has been acting in his new job since May.

"With Kieren's proven leadership abilities and deep understanding of the wealth management industry, I am confident he will be able to further leverage the deep relationships he has established with our current clients and grow our Queensland client base," NAB Private Wealth executive general manager Angela Mentis said.

Prior to joining NAB in a full-time role, Perkins consulted to the bank for a number of years. He joined the private bank in 2009.

He has held a number of senior positions since retiring from swimming in 2000, including director of Pain Australia and director of RogenSI.
