Pimco names Australian CEO

Pimco has appointed a former Macquarie executive to lead its business in Australia, including institutional and wealth management clients.

Adrian Stewart will take up the dual roles of head of Australia and executive vice president, reporting to recently appointed head of Asia-Pacific Eric Mogelof.

"Adrian is an important addition to the Asia-Pacific senior leadership team and his hiring further strengthens our leadership team and capabilities to serve our clients in Australia, which is a key market for PIMCO," Mr Mogelof said.

Mr Stewart was most recently Macquarie Group head of wholesale distribution and marketing and also held a role as the head of Macquarie professional series.

He has more than 22 years' experience in the financial service industry in leadership, strategy, business management, marketing and distribution.

Pimco managing director and head of portfolio management Australia Rob Mead said Mr Stewart’s appointment would bring additional expertise to the Pimco executive team.

"Adrian brings more than 22 years of experience to the team and has the knowledge and expertise needed to help lead the Australian business forward," Mr Mead said.
