Nikko AM has announced that Roger Bridges, former director of macroeconomic research and strategic direction for the Nikko Australian fixed-income team, has been appointed global strategist for interest rates and currencies, and will now be the fund manager’s “main spokesperson” on these issues globally.
London-based Andre Severino – who has been acting chief investment officer for Europe – has been named head of fixed income for the US and Europe, as well as being appointed to the “team managing global macro strategies”.
Nikko AM chief global strategist John Vail has relocated from Tokyo to New York and will now be heading up the global investment committee process and thought leadership effort.
“In response to the growing needs of our clients, building out our global investment capability has been a priority for us over the past year,” said Nikko AM global head of investment Yu-Ming Wang.
“We have brought on highly talented individuals and teams from outside the firm, and now we are appointing some of our most experienced individuals to lead areas that will be increasingly important to us going forward.”
