Google and accounting giant PriceWaterhouseCoopers have announced a global “business relationship”, providing consulting services to businesses on cloud computing.

In a joint statement, the two companies announced a range of collaborative B2B services to help companies “better use technology and information, and adapt to the disruptive forces shaping the world”.

The statement reveals that the two companies will develop new offerings including providing access to PwC’s “business insights” through Google apps and “suite of cloud-enabled collaboration and productivity tools”; utilising PwC’s analysts to assist users of the Google cloud platform; and to provide business consulting services, described as a service to “guide companies seeking to break new ground in their businesses — not only to compete with new entrants and adapt to disruptive market forces — but also to lead the innovation themselves”.

“For our clients, acquiring the knowledge most important to their operations, securing that information and using it optimally are critical – now more than ever before,” said PwC Australia chief executive Luke Sayers.

“PwC is teaming with Google to offer our joint knowledge and capabilities to clients – giving them one place to go, maximising experience and assets from both organisations.”

Google for Work president Amit Singh said PwC should be commended for “accelerating their own journey to the cloud”.

The statement explains that PwC is currently transitioning 5,000 people in Australia to Google Apps.
