Nikko Asset Management has appointed three new executives to its team in an effort to expand its global institutional market coverage.

The Japan-headquartered asset manager has appointed John Howland-Jackson, who was previously a senior managing director at ING Bank, as vice chairman of Nikko AM Europe and senior adviser for the Middle East, Africa and Asia regions.

Ian Lewis, a former partner of Ardevora Asset Management, has also joined the team as head of global consultant relations, while Charles Allard, who previously worked for Winton Capital Management, has been appointed head of sales.

“As we position Nikko Asset Management to be Asia’s premier global asset manager, these key executives will be instrumental in helping us further expand our business,” Nikko AM executive vice chairman Hideo Abe said.
