Legg Mason has appointed Tony Pattison as a director of sales, based in Melbourne.
The asset manager said Mr Pattison will be responsible for promoting its products and affiliate fund managers throughout Australia.
Mr Pattison joins Legg Mason from Challenger’s boutique funds management division, Fidante Partners, where he held the position of business development manager for the past three years.
Prior to his role with Challenger, Mr Pattison also worked as a business development manager with Macquarie for three years.
“[Mr Pattinson’s] appointment reflects our increased commitment in the wholesale market in line with our strong focus on servicing select key clients in high-quality relationships,” Legg Mason head of sales Beau Titchkosky said.
“He brings to our team strong relationship skills and an understanding of adviser needs which will allow Legg Mason to develop more indepth tailored solutions,” Mr Titchkosky said.
The asset manager said it is still seeking one further appointment to complete its four-person distribution team.
