In a statement, the CFA societies said Sue Morey had been appointed to the role.
Prior to joining the CFA, Ms Morey held a number of senior roles with CBA, HSBC, Perpetual and APRA.
“Appointing a senior advocate for Australia and New Zealand gives us more scope to focus on important issues in our markets and to provide leadership around solutions,” CFA society Sydney president Anthony Serhan said.
“The appointment is particularly relevant in the context of the recent Financial Services Inquiry, FOFA and other changes to superannuation in Australia post the GFC.
“We are committed to working with the government and industry players to restore trust in the investment profession,” he said.
