The virtual summit will take place on 9 and 10 February 2021 and equip advisers, sophisticated investors and financial services professionals with everything they need to know around understanding and implementing ESG strategies, from the common terms used, to the latest client behaviours around ESG investing and macro-economic trends driving growth.
This industry-first event will also unpack some of the intricacies, advantages and myths around this increasingly popular form of investment.
Speakers so far announced include the Responsible Investment Association of Australia’s Simon O'Connor, CoreData principal Andrew Inwood and Fidelity portfolio manager Bertrand Lecourt.
In addition, Russell Investments senior portfolio manager James Harwood will present a session on how advisers can cut through industry “marketing speak” to pick a true ethical manager, while AJ Financial Planning founder Alex Jamieson will speak on his experiences steering clients through the emerging universe of ESG investments.
“We are thrilled to present this new addition to our line-up of Wealth suite events in 2021, driven by the huge turnout and interest we received from our ESG session at the 2020 Adviser Innovation Summit,” InvestorDaily editor Sarah Kendell said.
“It’s clear that advisers want to know more about how to navigate the increasingly popular world of ESG investments. The ESG Summit was designed with exactly this in mind, and aims to unpack the facts, tactics and strategies behind the ‘buzzwords’ of ESG, empowering advisers to better develop their skills and deliver a stronger service offering to a new generation of clients.”
“ESG considerations are becoming a standard feature of current investment practice. As such, Russell Investments is pleased to be partnering with Investor Daily on the inaugural ESG Summit to explore this investment practice,” Mr Harwood said.
Event partner Fidelity International added that the group was also delighted to be a part of the inaugural ESG Summit.
“As an active fund manager, we aim to drive positive change by engaging and working with our investee companies to deliver better futures for investors today and in the generations to come,” said Kate Howitt, portfolio manager of the Fidelity Australian Opportunities Fund.
