The global equity manager has jumped on board as a gold partner for the upcoming ESG Summit in 2022.

InvestorDaily’s must-attend ESG Summit is returning in 2022 as an in-person event across Sydney and Melbourne to explore critical issues as we experience the greatest wealth transfer in history.

The summit will deliver a full day of keynote addresses, expert-led sessions, panel discussions and networking opportunities while providing an in-depth look at the evolving environmental, social and governance (ESG) landscape, and the tools and strategies required to engage socially aware and proactive clients.

ClearBridge Investments (formerly RARE Infrastructure Limited) has signed on as a gold partner for the event.

The company’s portfolio manager Shane Hurst told InvestorDaily that it is exciting to be involved in the ESG Summit, adding that they are looking forward to participating in meaningful conversations as concerns around ESG issues, sustainable investment and climate change accelerate globally.

“Infrastructure assets, a key foundation for economic activity and growth, plays and important role in reaching the United Nations global target of net-zero emissions by 2050,” he said.

“This comes with opportunities as well as challenges for different infrastructure sectors. Facing these challenges today and into the future reinforces the value of our efforts to prioritise ESG and sustainability factors into our investment approach for all our global listed infrastructure strategies, which we have done since their inception.

Mr Hurst concluded: “Asset managers have the powerful ability to drive change in the environmental, social and governance practices of public companies, and forums such as these are an important platform for investors to identify managers whose ESG efforts are delivering positive benefits towards a more sustainable economy."

ClearBridge Investments manages over $270 billion across a suite of equity strategies and solutions covering different asset classes and investment styles. It is a signatory to the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) and has been a member of the Responsible Investment Association Australasia (RIAA) since 2021.

The specialist infrastructure investment team in Australia – which was formed in 2006 – identifies and invests in infrastructure assets in the listed equity market to deliver risk adjusted returns over an investment cycle.

The ESG Summit will take place in Sydney on Tuesday, 8 February and in Melbourne on Thursday, 17 February 2022.
