A total of 258 finalists have been selected to compete at the eighth annual Women in Finance Awards.

The national awards program, run with the support of principal partner Mortgage Choice, is designed to celebrate the leading women and companies influencing the Australian financial services industry, including those in the wealth management industry.

Year after year, the Women in Finance Awards recognises the outstanding contributions made by women in financial services – across a wide range of sectors – and the companies furthering diversity and inclusion in the industry.

With only a fifth of the financial planning industry and close to 40 per cent of the ASX 100 and ASX 200 boards being women, the awards amplify the exceptional work being done by this minority.

The finalist list features over 250 high-achieving professionals and businesses across 24 individual and five group submission-based categories.

The Women in Finance Awards 2024 black-tie gala ceremony will be hosted by The Adviser’s parent company Momentum Media on Friday, 15 November 2024 at Hyatt Regency, Sydney. Click here to buy tickets.

Several chief executive officers, directors, and entrepreneurs have been named as finalists at this year’s awards.

Women in the wider financial services industry were also rewarded for their successes, including accounting professionals, financial advisers, small business advisers, innovators, mortgage brokers, thought leaders, marketing professionals, and young leaders who have made a mark in the first few years of their careers.

How will the winners be chosen?

Momentum Media has developed a robust awards methodology to select the finalists, with the judging criteria using both quantitative and qualitative data. The methodology acknowledges – among other attributes – growth, business development, diversity, leadership, innovation, business excellence and overall contribution to Australia’s finance sector.

All businesses and professionals that meet eligibility criteria from across Australia’s finance industry are encouraged to participate in the awards program.

To shortlist finalists, all submissions underwent a thorough audit process, checking demographic and other information against category eligible criteria based on the information provided in the submission.

Those submissions deemed eligible against submission criteria were reviewed and assessed by a panel of Momentum Media events and editorial team members and executives (alongside industry stakeholders where required) to determine the finalists for each category.

A judging panel of external judges will now review the finalist submissions to choose the winners.

The winners will be announced at the black-tie gala ceremony on Friday, 15 November 2024 at Hyatt Regency, Sydney.

At the end of the evening, the highest-scoring individual winner will receive the prestigious Excellence Award.

The ceremony presents an opportunity for the mortgage and commercial finance broking industry to celebrate the achievements of their colleagues and network with leaders across the financial services industry.
