As part of our ESG Summit Series, host David Stratford is joined by Tim Samway, the chairman at Packhorse, to chat about why agricultural land as an asset class should be taken seriously by investors.

Mr Samway shares the benefits of agricultural land as an asset class, including its high long-term demand and its strength as a hedge against inflation, as well as its super low volatility.

“We can't live for the rest of our lives with ridiculously low interest rates. And so investing in an asset like agricultural land, which is a long-term, real-asset investment, can actually provide a great buffer to investors, but also provide them with that income yield in the long term,” Mr Samway says.

The chairman shares Packhorse’s aims which include increasing the efficiency of the land, while also meeting environmental goals through principles of regenerative agriculture.
