Good Super has announced a partnership with OpenInvest, a US start-up that provides a socially responsible investment platform for retail investors.
Via OpenInvest's platform, Good Super will provide its members with a series of new superannuation investment options that are aligned with values-based themes.
The 10 themed equity investment options include names like Dump Trump, LGBT Rights, Gender Equality, Boycott Adani and Boycott Coal Seam Gas.
Each investment option either includes or excludes companies that are identified as positively or negatively related to the cause, said Good Super in a statement.
OpenInvest chief strategy officer Josh Levin said his company aims to make socially responsible investing "easy and more accessible".
"Through their finances, particularly in Australia where superannuation contributions are mandatory, citizens now have broad-based collective ownership of the economy," Mr Levin said.
"Naturally, as investors, human beings, and families, we all want long-term financial returns, and we have various social or environmental concerns. There’s no reason that these shouldn’t come together.
"Our goal with Good Super is to provide their members with one of Australia’s most personalised and customised super products, without sacrificing performance," Mr Levin said.
Good Super product manager Steve Gibson said the partnership with OpenInvest came about after members expressed a desire for greater flexibility and customisation.
"Good Super has always offered members the opportunity to have a positive impact through their super investments. We’re now able to take this even further by giving them the opportunity to support the causes that matter most to them," Mr Gibson said.
"We empower our members to do good their way, to create the future they want. So we’re delighted to have formed this exclusive partnership in Australia with OpenInvest."
