Netwealth has been named the top Australian platform by Investment Trends for the third year in a row.

Investment Trend’s "2017 Platform Benchmarking & Competitive Analysis" report, which compared 19 master trust and wrap platforms on 522 characteristics, saw Netwealth come out on top for overall functionality.

Hub24 followed in a close second, with OneVue coming in third, ousting CFS FirstWrap, which placed fourth. Asgard eWRAP came in fifth, according to a statement by Investment Trends.

Netwealth has claimed the title since 2015, with Investment Trends senior analyst King Loong Choi confirming CFS FirstWrap came first in 2014.

“Industry wide, both Netwealth and HUB24 stand out for their reporting, online business management and decision support tools,” said a statement by the research firm.

“On the other hand, the relative strengths of OneVue revolve around its reporting and product offering, while CFS FirstWrap holds a competitive edge with its online business management tools.”

Mr Choi added that new trends had emerged in 2017 that saw a greater focus on platform efficiency and cyber fraud protection.
